An unforgettable year – my 2016 favourites
Wow! Another year is coming to an end, but what an unforgettable one it has been.
On a personal note, it has been non-stop and somewhat of a breakthrough year as a wedding photographer. Having photographed a few weddings prior, this year really took off. I was fortunate and privileged to be able to document numerous weddings and portrait sessions, and I can’t thank my couples enough for trusting me in capturing their day. I have traveled the country, met some truly wonderful people which in turn has allowed me to be as creative as possible, and taken some great photographs.
While Christmas and New Year is fast approaching, it also allows me to reflect on the last 12 months and see the breadth of work that has been produced for my couples. It is great to be able to go through the weddings and events I have documented and pick my favourites. They really are the ones that stand out for me, and I constantly strive for variety, quality and creativeness that makes my photography unique. I always approach weddings and events with no preconceived ideas. This allows my work to be fresh and spontaneous, but also to challenge myself to create something new and exciting every time. After all, every couple has a unique relationship, so it is my aim to make their photographs as unique as they are.
Every time I revisit an image or blog post, it always throws up emotions that I captured at that moment in time. Not just for me, but for the couples who will cherish their photos for generations. That is the power of photography, and the reason I love doing what I do – capturing memories that will last a lifetime.
It has been truly amazing, and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for me and my couples. I am really looking forward to sharing my highlights from this year! Thanks again to everyone I have met this year, and I am already looking ahead to another epic year ahead with more awesome couples.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. All the best.
Bring on 2017!
