Chirag & Katherina’s wedding
Chirag & Katherina’s wedding and reception at the Radisson Blu Edwardian in Heathrow was nothing short of epic.
With their Hindu ceremony, civil and reception on the same day, the day was always going to be full throttle. With excellent planning from the bride and groom, everything went exactly to plan, and it turned out to be a day to remember for everyone involved.
Both bride and groom were extremely relaxed mood in the morning, and I was able to switch from room to room to capture some getting-ready shots before the day unfolded. First up was the Hindu ceremony, and both sets of families looked the part. Katherina’s family come from Germany, and embraced the Hindu culture by dressing up and looking the part. It was a case of immersing themselves into all the traditions and celebrations that come with Hindu weddings. With beautiful decorations and mandap provided by Gayatri Weddings & Events, the ceremony was conducted clearly and smoothly.
Shortly after the Hindu ceremony and lunch, guests made their way into the Connaught Suite for the civil ceremony. It was clear to see that Chirag and Katherina make a great couple, and the guests were treated to a beautiful ceremony. Afterwards, I was able to take advantage of the Radisson Blu Edwardian’s many locations for some portraits of the newlyweds. None more so than the Newbury Suite and Atrium, which provides beautiful natural light and a great backdrop.
The anticipation for the night ahead started building when guests arrived for the champagne reception in The Atrium. With the sun beating through the glass roof, and a live four-piece orchestra playing in the background, guests started to arrive all dressed up for the evening in a celebratory mood.
Receptions are for having fun and to celebrate, and this one had it all. The couples’ family and friends were all in a party mood, which made capturing all that went on a really fun. With the music provided by the excellent Masters of Entertainment, the dance floor filled up in a flash, and stayed like that till the end.
It was truly an honour being Chirag & Katherina’s Asian wedding photographer in London, and documenting it was a joy. Huge congratulations to them both!
