The year that will live long in the memory.

Every year when I sit down and reflect how the year has been, it always amazes me lucky I am that I do what I do for a living.

So much has happened this year, but one thing that has remained consistent is being able to work with amazing people. Not only the incredible couples that have trusted me to document their big day, but also the brilliant suppliers that work hard to make every event special.

Wedding season started super early for me in January, so I didn’t have to wait too long to get up to speed. I travelled up and down the country and worked in some incredible venues. Some that I have worked in numerous times, and others that I have explored for the first time.

And talking of firsts, one wedding took me to the stunning island of Santorini in Greece for Suraj & Monica’s wedding. It was my first destination wedding and hoping it won’t be my last. An experience I will never forget, least because I celebrated my birthday on their wedding day!

But in all honesty, every wedding I photograph leaves a lasting memory on me, and this year just add to the amazing list of them. From the intimate to the grand, they all have that something that will stick with me for a long time.

I’ve had so much fun photographing weddings in 2023. I always try to improve year on year. Not only as a photographer, but as a person in general. Photographing weddings has become so much more than just taking a few pictures and handing them over. I enjoy the connections that come with working with so many different people from all types of backgrounds. It’s these stories that get me excited and fires the passion. This is where I try to find something unique with each couple by letting their story come to the fore.

Narrowing down literally thousands of images to just over a hundred is always a challenge but one that I love. As I said at the top, it allows me to reflect on an incredible year, and these images really show all the emotions that come with documenting weddings.

2024 looks like it will be another busy and exciting year. I’ve got some amazing weddings lined up and looking forward to getting started. And of course, for anyone looking for a photographer for next year and beyond, hit me up! But for now, it’s time to wind down a little, enjoy some family time and recharge my batteries.
