Indian Wedding | Shree Swaminarayan Temple | London
A beautifully intimate Indian wedding with plenty of vibrant colour, laughs and good times
Alan & Sheetal chose the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in London, Stanmore as the venue for their wedding. Due to the recent restrictions on the number of guests allowed at weddings, they were forced to keep numbers low. However, this did not affect the spirits and good vibes of the friends and family who were there to celebrate with them.
The morning started off with everyone in a relaxed mood, excited for the day ahead. Alan arrived with his Best Man and was greeted by Sheetal’s family for a small welcome ceremony outside. As they made their way into the venue, it was Sheetal’s turn to be led to the venue by her family.
The wedding was beautifully conducted by Priest Ajit Pandey, keeping everyone informed and entertained along the way too. It was also live-streamed to friends and family who were not able to make it to their wedding.
We were blessed with lovely weather for their wedding, and we took full advantage of this by exploring their grounds for some couples portraits afterwards. Before the day had started, I arrived early to familiarise myself with the venue and also to scout out some locations for some potential portraits.
The venue had some lovely areas and gardens, but the one place that peaked my curiosity was an abandoned empty swimming pool, right on the premises. I loved the randomness of it, as well as the textures of the empty pool. I mentioned it to Alan & Sheetal and they were well up for it. Sheetal was wearing a beautiful bright red Indian wedding dress, and in stark contrast to the setting, it really popped her out of the background.
As a Multicultural Wedding Photographer, I really enjoyed capturing Alan & Sheetal’s big day, and I had a great time with them and their guests. Here are some of the highlights from their wedding day:
