I had the pleasure of photographing Amit and Bhavna’s Hindu wedding and civil ceremony at the stunning Colwick Hall in Nottingham.
The wedding ceremony held in the marquee within the gardens of the gorgeous Palladian style Georgian country house mansion, nestles in over sixty acres of parkland. A historic building dating back to Saxon times and once the ancestral home of Lord Byron. It was a very chilly early start by fortunately for the bride and groom, it was a developed into a warm and sunny day just in time for the arrival of their guests at Colwick Hall.
The day started with the Mandva Mahurat & Griha Shanti (pre-wedding ceremony) in the marque for Bhavna and her side of the family, and not long after, Amit arrived with his Jaan (Groom’s procession). What ensued was the traditional welcome with dhol and saxophone players welcoming the union of the two families along with the colour, laughs and rituals. Both Bhavna and Amit looked amazing on the day, added with the spectacular location and sunshine. It proved to be a day to remember capturing the emotions that go on during Indian weddings, and this one had it all in abundance – joy, tears and lots of crazy dance moves.
Thank you to the newlyweds for choosing and trusting me to be their Asian wedding photographer in Nottingham. I had a great time documenting their big day amongst their friends and family at Colwick Hall. All the best for the future Amit and Bhavna!
Here are a few highlights from the day…
“We had a look at the pictures and they look all amazing! Far surpassed our expectation and we are very happy we went with you.”
