Rahul & Beki

Hindu Wedding & Reception | De Vere Wokefield Estate | Berkshire

A beautiful venue for a lovely, multicultural day of celebrations.

An International Flavour

It’s always nice when an enquiry lands in my inbox, but when the email comes from Dubai, the excitement levels increase even more. That’s exactly where Rahul & Beki sent their enquiry from, and it was the start of our journey of working together.

They are both originally from the UK, but work and live out in the Middle East. However, they wanted to have their wedding celebrations back in the UK. They chose the beautiful De Vere Wokefield Estate in Berkshire which is a familiar venue, and one where I have photographed at a couple of years prior.

The day had arrived, and it really did feel like an international event. Many of Rahul & Beki’s friends had flown over with them to celebrate their day. As usual, I arrived early at De Vere Wokefield Estate to refamiliarise myself with the venue. It also gave me the chance to see Beki in the bridal suite.

The room was a hive of activity as Beki and her friends and family were getting ready. Beki however was a picture of calm with a touch of nerves as you would expect. The excitement levels around her remained high, as everyone was looking forward to an epic day ahead.

The Start of the Celebrations

Down the hallway, Rahul was ready and waiting. He made his way down to entrance of the hotel to meet his guests for the start of his arrival. It was a lively start as both sides of the families greeted each other, while Beki’s mum welcomed her soon to be son-in-law into the foyer and main hall.

After a short ceremony under the mandap, it was time for Beki to make her way down the aisle, accompanied by her dad. It was an emotional and proud moment as she entered the mandap for the start of the Hindu ceremony.

I have been blessed to have witnessed and documented many multicultural weddings. There is a different energy when two cultures come together to experience something new. Rahul & Beki’s wedding was no different. The ceremony was once of joy, emotion and plenty of laughs. It was a new experience for many people to witness, which as a Multicultural Wedding Photographer, makes it exciting to document.

Once the ceremony had concluded, guests made their way out to the front of the hotel to congratulate the newlyweds with a shower of confetti. This also gave us the perfect opportunity afterwards for the portraits session. The grounds at De Vere Wokefield Estate are vast and beautiful, so we were spoilt for choice.

An Ending Fitting for All

With a couple of hours of downtime, guests were making their way back for the drinks reception. Meanwhile, Rahul & Beki were changed into their reception outfits and ready for some more portraits before the evening of celebrations.

With everyone seated in the reception hall, they were greeted with huge cheers as they made their way in for the cake cutting. Speeches and first dance followed, which eventually flowed into the dance floor opening for the celebrations to continue well into the night.

Rahul & Beki’s wedding was a really fun event to document. Both were super chilled throughout the day, yet their excitement rubbed off on all their guests. As an Asian Wedding Photographer, this is what documenting weddings is all about – capturing the joy, good times and memories which will be looked back on for years to come.

With that, here are some highlights from their amazing day. Enjoy!
