The Brewery

As Wedding Venues go, they don’t get much more unique than The Brewery in Barbican, London.

The building come with some pretty impressive history too. It is a Grade II listed building on the site of a former Whitbread, 18th Century brewery, and located in one of London’s more vibrant and cultural areas.

Across the street is the Barbican Centre, an imposing estate of brutalist architecture, completed in 1982. It is all concrete and glass but if offers some amazing backdrops for portraits. After all, The Brewery is in the heart of Barbican, so why not use one of London’s famous estates for some unique shots?

Back to The Brewery, it is a venue that offers spaces for all types of events, not just weddings. This is what makes The Brewery such a versatile venue. For larger events such as Asian Weddings, the Porter Tun is a perfect space which can accommodate up to 600 people.

The Brewery is not for everyone though. It doesn’t offer any natural light and there isn’t any parking available for guests. However, it is one of the more quirky and unique venues in London, and when the Porter Tun is dressed up, it looks absolutely incredible. It has a drama and atmosphere which is unmatched, and not to mention the acoustics when it comes to the wedding reception party.

As an Asian Wedding Photographer in London, I love photographing here. It really does challenge your skills as a photographer because of it’s lack of natural light combined with the dark interior. That’s why I bring my experience and skills (as well as plenty of lights!) to maximise every bit from this venue.

Overall, The Brewery is a fantastic option for your wedding. It has a certain vibe to it, but it will definitely make your wedding one to remember!
