Thasheen & Meera

“You’ve captured such beautiful and priceless shots!’
Hindu Wedding & Reception | Froyle Park | Hampshire
A beautiful Hindu Wedding & Reception in the picturesque Hampshire countryside.
Froyle Park holds a special place in my heart – It’s where I got married ten years ago! So when Thasheen & Meera reached out and chose me to document their day at Froyle Park, it was an absolute honour, and suddenly, all the great memories came flooding back.
And those memories kept coming as soon as I drove through the gates and saw the house in front of me.
A Morning of Excitement
It was a warm and sunny Spring morning – perfect for a wedding! I grabbed my gear and started walking around the venue, capturing moments and details. The adjoining cottage where Meera and her family were getting ready was a hive of activity. You could feel the energy in the room, and Meera herself was a picture of calm as she was having her makeup applied.
Before long, Thasheen and his family arrived from their long trip from Exeter. Again, the excitement levels were there for all to see as they got in position, ready for the Jaan arrival.
As Thasheen’s G-Wagon inched towards the house, the dhol players provided the background beat as his friends and family danced their way down the driveway. It was an epic entrance, as both families came together to celebrate the arrival of the Jaan with a milni ceremony.
Their Beautiful Hindu Ceremony
After a short breakfast in the sun, guest filtered their way into the main room where Shagun Weddings had beautifully set up the mandap. Shortly after, Thasheen was welcomed into the mandap, followed shortly after by Meera, accompanied by her uncles. Meera looked stunning in her Sabyasachi dress as she walked down the aisle, beaming with excitement.
The emotions were there for all to see as the antrapat (curtain) came down in front of Thasheen, revealing his soon-to-be-wife in front of him. The tears of joy started flowing!
The ceremony was beautifully conducted in silence, as guests listened and observed the rituals and ceremonies that go into performing a Hindu Wedding.
After the conclusion of the Hindu Wedding, guests enjoyed the great weather with lunch in the sun. Meanwhile, myself, Thasheen and Meera took advantage of the beautiful grounds in Froyle Park for some beautiful portraits. Although it’s quite an intimate venue, the options for backgrounds opportunities are endless. None more so than the stunning pergola overlooking the gorgeous countryside in the distance.
An Evening to Round off the Celebrations
As the couple departed for a quick break, the main room had been turned around for the reception. With guests seated and ready to go, Thasheen & Meera made their entrance to a huge ovation, heading straight over to cut their cake.
With speeches and first dance following, the dance floor opened and the celebrations continued before the newlyweds departed back to Exeter.
For me personally, the day brought back a lot of incredible memories. Being back at Froyle Park after ten years was a special moment, and it hasn’t changed much! Mainly because of its natural beauty – there is not a lot that can be added to improve it further.
As for Thasheen & Meera, these two were an absolute joy to work with. Both were loving every moment, and taking everything in their stride. That’s all you can wish for as an Asian Wedding Photographer, as it provides all the emotions you look for when capturing a wedding day.
