Kieron & Lauren

“Thanks so much for everything. You were amazing and everyone had such nice things to say about you.’
Hindu Wedding | Hunton Park | Hertfordshire
A stunning outdoor Hindu Wedding, set in the beautiful grounds of Hunton Park in Hertfordshire.
From the moment Kieron & Lauren contacted me about their wedding, I knew it was going to be something special. It was also going to have an international flavour, with Lauren and her family coming over from the States to celebrate their wedding.
A Perfect Day for a Wedding
Having plans for an outdoor wedding is all well and good, but when it’s planned for the UK, you can’t predict what the weather will say! Thankfully, the day had arrived and it was nothing but warmth with blue skies.
It had been a few years since I visitedt Hunton Park, so it was nice refamiliarising myself with the venue and their stunning grounds. After a little wander around, and scouting out some locations for portraits, I headed over to see Lauren and her family getting ready.
The room was a hive of activity, as Lauren and her family were getting ready, all in the same room. The atmosphere was one of high energy and excitement, and you could tell people were really looking forward to the wedding getting started.
Prioritising Portraits
Kieron & Lauren both had their Civil Wedding in the States the previous year, almost to the day, and they wanted their Hindu Wedding to have the same vibe. One of fun, excitement and pure happiness. And it all started with their couples portraits before the wedding ceremony.
It’s always nice when a generous amount of time is allocated for portraits. It just so happened to work out perfectly for us to do it before the wedding. Having scouted out some lovely locations after I arrived, we calmly walked around the grounds of Hunton Park and captured some beautiful portraits.
The Start of the Celebrations
After we spent a good amount of time on the portraits, it wasn’t long before Lauren hid herself away, and Kieron was making his entrance for his Jaan.
It was a lively start, as Kieron ramped up the noise by dancing his way, albeit through a sunroof, down the pathway towards the venue. He was eventually led through the entrance, through to the garden at the back and down the steps to the mandap.
After a brief welcome ceremony for the groom, it was now time for the bride to make her entrance. Making the same journey as Kieron, Lauren was accompanied by her family, as she was brought down the steps and down the aisle.
The beaming smile on her face was there for all to see, as she approached the mandap to be greeted by her emotional parents. The antrapat (curtain) came down in front of Kieron, revealing his wife for the start of the Hindu ceremony.
A Joyous Occasion
The sun was casting a beautiful golden glow behind the mandap, bathing guests in a beautiful, early Summers warmth. It was a perfect setting for a Hindu Wedding, beautifully conducted by Pandit Shyam Das. Guests were hooked on his every word and all the rituals he performed.
Both Kieron & Lauren were also soaking up the occasion, truly immersed in wedding while sharing lovely intimate moments together – almost as if no one else was there watching.
With what felt like only a few minutes, the ceremony was coming to an end. It was time for everyone to enjoy the post-wedding game – the Koda Kodi. Whoever finds a ring in a bowl full of petals and milky water is the true winner of the day. And on this occasion, it was Lauren who won two-one!
With the ceremony concluded, Kieron & Lauren walked back down the aisle, but this time as husband and wife.
An Amazing Day
Working with Kieron & Lauren at Hunton Park was an absolute pleasure. Having photographed their pre-wed portrait session the week before, to capturing their amazing wedding, I had a whole lot of fun doing so.
As an Asian Wedding Photographer, it was a privilege that they trusted me to capture their day the way they wanted. And for me, I got to work with a super-chilled, incredible couple.
So with that conclusion, here are some highlights from their beautiful day.
