As Easter weekends go, Rahul & Rhea could not have chosen a better one to get married in

With temperatures hitting the late twenties, it was perfect weather for an amazing wedding at Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow.

Getting the celebrations started

It all started on Good Friday for the beginning of the celebrations for Rhea’s Mendhi and Jago party. It was also a chance for me to get reacquainted with her family after photographing their Roka last year. Saturday was Rhea’s chura ceremony at her family home. Both events were really lovely to capture, with her whole family in great spirits and excited for what the wedding day will bring.

So the big day had finally come and it was another scorching day. Arriving at Radisson Blu Edwardian in Heathrow early, I captured getting-ready shots of Rhea and her family. Everyone was in a relaxed mood, but there was also some nervous excitement in the air.

Rahul’s family had made the long trip from Nottingham and were gearing up for the grooms procession. With Rahul and his nephew mounted on a horse and amongst wild celebrations, they danced their way over to where Rhea’s family were waiting to greet them. This part of weddings alway provide some great reactions from both sets of families, and it was great to see when they embraced each other for the start of the ceremonies.

The Hindu Wedding

Once everyone had had breakfast, with delicious food by Ragasaan, Rahul, followed by both sets of families made their way into the Royal Suite for the Indian wedding. Soon after, Rhea’s made her entrance with her brother’s under a dohli and for the start of the Hindu wedding ceremony.

The ceremony was a lovely affair and after it’s conclusion, guests made their way out into the light and bright atrium for drinks and canapes. This gave me a perfect opportunity to get some portraits of Rahul & Rhea around Radisson Blu Edwardian.

Guests made their way into the Commonwealth Suite for the reception while the newlyweds were getting ready for their evening reception. The room was beautifully set up by Wow Factor Events, and the amazing entertainment was provided by Paragon Roadshow and the Imperial Drummers.

Both sets of parents made their way into the venue amongst loud cheers, followed by the main couple themselves.

The night that followed was pure entertainment and the dancefloor stayed packed the whole night. I woke up the next day with a few bruises capturing all the dancing, but damn, it was worth it!
