Vishal & Nisha
“Absolutely amazing photographer who is respectful, kind, honest and patient.’
Hindu Wedding & Reception | Heythrop Park Hotel | Oxfordshire
After a week of capturing Vishal & Nisha’s pre-wedding events, the time had finally come for their big day at the beautiful Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire
I had the pleasure of documenting Vishal & Nisha’s Chundri ceremony the weekend before along with their Menhdi night a few days after. This gave me a chance to meet both sets of families and capture all the celebrations leading up to the main day.
The start of an incredible day
With the wedding excitement in full flow, the day had finally arrived. Arriving early at Heythrop Park gave me a chance to see both the bride and groom separately for getting-ready shots. Both were is great spirits with a few understandable butterflies. But one thing was for sure, they couldn’t wait to see each other.
The Jaan arrival was nothing short of wild (in a good way!). With Vishal mounted on top of a white horse, the procession made their way to the front of the manor house with the Dhol players and trumpeteers ramping up the noise.
Colour smoke grenades going off in the background made for a beautifully colourful meeting of both sets of families. Cue more wild dancing followed by the milni ceremonies.
Once everyone had had breakfast, guests made their way into the huge marquee where the Indian wedding ceremony was to take place. Shortly after, Vishal made his entrance. Cue a crazy scrum where Nisha’s family converged on him before he even reached the mandap to grab his shoes – a fun Indian wedding tradition. It was then the turn of Nisha to make her entrance under a dholi, flanked by her cousins.
The ceremony was beautifully conducted by Pandit Ram Pandey, with dramatic and emotional background music provided by Sagar Vyas Events. Once the ceremony had concluded, there were games in the mandap followed by a happy vidhai. This also gave me a chance to take some beautiful portraits of the happy couple in the grounds of Heythrop Park, in between intermittent rain clouds.
A night to remember
However, spirits were not dampened. A break in the afternoon gave everyone a chance to relax and get ready for the evenings entertainment.
The marquee was beautifully transformed by Dream Moments and music and entertainment by Enigma Roadshow. It started off with a bang with Vishal & Nisha, who both looked amazing, making their entrance and to pop the champagne.
Speeches, great food, lots of drink, the first dance and more dancing all followed in what proved to be a night to remember.
It has truly been great getting to know Vishal & Nisha and their friends and family during their wedding events. So many amazing moments were captured during the course of the week, and I can’t thank them enough for choosing and trusting me as their Asian Wedding Photographer to document it all.
Congratulations to the happy couple and here some highlights from their wedding and reception at Heythrop Park Hotel:
