Gurdeep & Deepa chose the beautiful Keythorpe Manor in Leicester as the venue for their gorgeous, intimate civil ceremony

As with a lot with couples in 2021, Gurdeep & Deepa had to rearrange their wedding from the previous year due to the pandemic. During the previous 18 months, we had kept in touch to work out the best way moving forward, and thankfully, they were able to find a date. Deepa even said to me “If you’re not available on our wedding day, we will change our date for when you are.” I felt totally humbled and I will always be thankful that they chose me to document their wedding.

Perfect conditions for a beautiful wedding

It was my first time photographing at Keythorpe Manor and what a beautiful venue it is. Arriving early, I spent a little time wondering around the beautiful grounds, familiarising myself with the layout as well as scouting out some locations for couples portraits later. It was also looking like the weather gods were playing ball, blessing us with warm, sunny conditions.

It wasn’t long before Gurdeep arrived with his parents, and I took the opportunity to take a few getting-ready shots of him and his two best friends. Soon after, Deepa arrived with her uncle and I was able capture finishing touches with her and her niece in the bridal cottage. At the same time, guests were starting to arrive, making their way into the barn where the civil ceremony would take place.

A relaxed vibe with all the emotions

The Oak Barn was beautifully set up by Niche Flowers, with piano and vocals provided by the extremely talented Cat Wright. With everyone seated, Deepa made her entrance for the start of the lovely civil ceremony. Afterwards, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to the gardens for celebratory drinks followed by family and couples portraits.

Meanwhile, the Oak Barn was being turned around for the sit down dinner before guests made their way inside. Soon after, Gurdeep & Deepa made their entrance for the cutting of the cake, made by Bay Tree Cakes. Speeches made for some emotional moments but also plenty of laughs too. It was a really chilled reception and everyone was in a relaxed mood, enjoying the intimate vibe of the evening.

The intimate moments continue

It was soon time for guests to leave Keythorpe Manor and head over to Deepa’s uncles home, where the reception continued in the garden. The drinks were flowing and the good times carried on into the night. With a few games and some surprise videos from guests that weren’t able to make the wedding, it was all about capturing those moments and emotions as they happened.

Photographing Gurdeep & Deepa’s wedding was an absolute pleasure. They both make an amazing couple and you could tell they were loving every minute of their day with their nearest and dearest. As a Leicester Asian Wedding Photographer, this was a wedding that I will remember for a long time. For me, the smiles in almost all the photos tell their own story. Here are a few highlights from their special day:
