Civil ceremony | Woolwich Town Hall | London

A beautiful civil ceremony for a beautiful couple. These two are just made for each other.

Photographing weddings for me are all about the couple. It is a collaborative investment and a natural rapport is key. So when I got to work with Joshua & Archana, we all clicked straight away. Both are such lovely people which made it an absolute joy documenting their civil ceremony at Woolwich Town Hall in London.

This was Part 1 of their celebrations, with their Tamil Wedding & Reception following a few weeks later. But for now, this day was their focus.

It was a really intimate wedding with only their closest friends and family attending. Archana and her family arrived first followed shortly by Joshua. I could sense the nervous excitement in both of them after seeing them individually, but you could see how ready they were to get married!

Once their guests were seated and with Joshua standing at the front, Archana made her way in with her dad. The emotions were running high, and the tears quickly followed!

The tears continued, but they were for absolute joy. I was a pleasure being there to witness and document their marriage.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the time we had inside Woolwich Town Hall. It truly is an impressively beautiful building inside. The first thing you see when you walk in is the grand staircase which splits in two halfway up. I immediately thought that we had to use that as backdrop for their portraits, which we did!

However, there were also some other alternative spots within the building which we found and to great effect. Moving outside, we found a lovely side street which offered us a more urban theme, which juxtaposed nicely with the traditional theme of Woolwich Town Hall.

As a Tamil Wedding Photographer in London, I had a great time with Joshua & Archana on their civil ceremony. It was lovely meeting them and their families, and knowing that I would be seeing them again in a few weeks for their religious wedding. Part 2 is to come soon, but for now, here are some highlights from their civil.
