Mo & Zaynab

“These are the most beautiful photos I have ever seen in my life!’

Civil Ceremony & Reception | Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park | London

A Luxury Wedding in the heart of London’s most illustrious settings.

An Iconic Location

The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is one of those venues which you feel fortunate to visit once, let alone photograph there. But to do it twice, it’s pretty special. When Mo & Zaynab saw Amar & Nikita’s wedding which I documented the previous year, they immediately got in touch.

I was super excited to get the opportunity to work there again with these two incredible people. The fact that I had been there before proved a massive bonus to them, as I was able to offer insight and advice on certain aspects of the venue, as well as the ceremony itself.

As with all full day wedding coverage, I included a complimentary pre-wed portraits session in Mo & Zaynab’s package. It was great meeting them before their big day, and learning more about them as people. So I knew it was going to be an incredible day from the get-go.

Arriving in the Capital

The day arrived a few weeks later, and it was an early start in the capital. I always get a buzz when photographing in a central London location. When the location is Knightsbridge, it’s pretty impressive. The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is an iconic setting, and it felt like a fitting venue for Mo & Zaynab’s luxury wedding.

Zaynab’s suite was nothing short of amazing. It offered so much space for her bridal party to relax and get ready. There was a calm, yet excited atmosphere, and the party enjoyed a few drinks and food in the suite while I discretely documented what was happening.

Meanwhile, Mo was ready and raring to go down in the room where the civil ceremony was to be held. Guests were arriving, coming in from the rain to take their seats. The Bollywood String Quartet were providing background music as the buzz and excitement levels were increasing.

A Luxury Setting for the Ceremony

With everyone seated and Mo waiting at the front, it was soon time for Zaynab to make her way down the aisle accompanied by her father. There were beaming smiles all round as the registrar began the ceremony between these two amazing people.

The emotions were there for all to see, not only between the couple, but also their guests. It soon turned to cheers are the newlyweds were announced as husband and wife, and they both made their exit. Outside on the terrace, the rain had thankfully stopped as guests lined up with confetti in their hands. Soon, Mo & Zaynab made their way down the steps amongst a shower of confetti.

Portraits in Hyde Park

With the break in the weather, this gave us the perfect opportunity for the couples portraits session. We didn’t have to go far, seeing that Hyde Park is literally right next to the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. There was a slight smog in the air, but this only added to the drama for their portraits, as well as a soft, editorial feel to their images.

With a quick change over into their reception outfits, it was once again time to capture some more portraits while the light was good. By now, Mo & Zaynab were pros, having had their pre-wed portraits session a few weeks earlier, as well as the session after the ceremony.

The crowds were out in force, enjoying the late summer sun by the Serpentine. Normally, I would try and avoid such crowded spaces for portraits. However, bring in such a popular part of London, I felt embracing the buzz and excitement was the best way. It also shows where we were – a vibrant, energetic and iconic part of London.

The Celebrations Continue

With the drinks reception on the terrace in full swing, Mo & Zaynab made their entrance amongst huge cheers. Cake cutting and mingling followed, before guests made their way up the stairs into the ballroom for the start of the evenings reception.

The excitement was sky high as guests were on their feet, waving their napkins in the air as the happy couple made their way in. It proved to set a precedence for the rest of an entertaining evening. Speeches, good food, dance routines and the first dance all followed into the night as the celebrations continued.

Mo & Zaynab’s wedding at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park was a lot of fun to be a part of. Working with these two was amazing too. They were both really chilled, and trusted my vision as a Luxury Asian Wedding Photographer to capture their wedding the way they wanted.

It really was a epic day of good times, love and high emotion, and here are some of their highlights. Enjoy!
